Communication Skills (with Extended DISC®)

Communication represents a fundamental role in our working and daily lives and can be the difference between mistakes in understanding and being on the same page. Strong communication skills help us convey our message, build relationships, and achieve our goals.

Extended DISC® provides a framework for more productive interactions. It acts as a map to improve and enhance professional and personal communication. Participants of this course complete an online extended DISC® questionnaire and receive a full report.  The report is full of strategies to build self-awareness and understanding in self and others while developing adaptive communication skills.

Adaptive communication

• Apply strategies to build rapport and meaningfully communicate with people of different styles
• Mindfulness and being present while communicating

Putting it all together

• Action planning

• Identify, describe, and adapt to different communication styles
• Understand the impact of visual, verbal, and vocal communication
• Apply active and empathic listening and questioning skills to ensure understanding
• Develop greater self-awareness of strengths, and areas of flexibility
• Communicate with greater mindfulness and presence
• Adapting styles to reduce reactive behaviour and build rapport.

This course requires completion of the Extended DISC® online questionnaire.
